Gwen
Gwen
Named after Miss Gwen Bush.
In 1953, Miss Gwen Bush played a pivotal role in the maritime industry of the Cayman Islands during her nearly three-decade-long career at Pan Carib Agencies. As the assistant to Colin Panton, the agency’s owner, she supported and dispatched seamen, a position that was particularly noteworthy at a time when few women were involved in this male-dominated field.
Her dedication and service to the seafaring community made her a beloved figure among the seamen she assisted. Her impact was so profound that after her passing, the Cayman Islands Seafarers Association honored her legacy by providing a headstone inscribed with the heartfelt tribute: “She was a Seafarer at Heart.” This inscription reflects the deep respect and admiration she earned within the seafaring community, recognising her as one of their own despite not being a seafarer in the traditional sense.
1. **Durability**: Stainless steel is highly durable, corrosion-resistant, and strong, making it an excellent base material for jewellery.
2. **PVD Gold Plating**: The 18K PVD gold plating process bonds gold to the stainless steel at a molecular level. This method ensures that the gold color is long-lasting and resistant to tarnishing, fading, and scratches. The PVD process creates a coating that is more durable than traditional gold plating techniques.
3. **Waterproof**: Since the jewelry is made from stainless steel, it is resistant to water and can be worn while swimming or showering without rusting or corroding.
Overall, this combination results in jewelry that is both aesthetically pleasing and highly durable, ensuring it maintains its appearance for several years with proper care.
